We have made significant improvements since taking over. Our aim is that every dog and cat are happy and I make every effort to try to ensure this. Obviously there are some which find it difficult to settle in a new environment, if this is the case then I take on the particular animal and work one to one with him/her to try and win them over! Each pet is an individual and each needs to be assessed and treated according to their needs.
We do have a large selection of cat and dog foods, including some puppy/kitten varieties. Obviously it is not possible to stock every food available, and if I haven't got the food you use, you may bring it in or I will provide the nearest alternative. I am an de-registered nurse (not currently practising) and am able to give injections if necessary, eg insulin for diabetics. Tablets and medications may be brought in labelled, with your pet with instructions of when and how to be administered. I will need to know certain information when you drop off your animal, home address, name of veterinary practice, animals age and date of birth, food eaten, any medication, history that I may need to know and an emergency contact number, for yourself or representative.
If an animal becomes unwell in my care I will endeavour to use your vet, but this is not always practical. I have a very good relationship with The Barn/Ashcroft road practice, as well as others locally. I will assess each individual situation. It may be that I contact you whilst you are away if I am very concerned, mostly however, I can deal with in your absence and I will update you on your return.
Every dog is kennelled and walked individually, except where there is more than one dog from the same family and they are usually kennelled and walked together. If you do not wish them to be together you must let me know on booking so that I can plan accordingly. It is not always possible to provide a separate kennel at the last minute, but I will do my best. Equally if your dog is due to be in season sharing with an unneutered dog, then please give me as much notice as possible.
Each dog is walked individually twice a day every day of the year without fail. I have never missed the two walks a day, ever. Even weekends, bank holidays, Christmas and New Year, the dogs will still be walked twice a day. We are based in a country setting in the Suffolk countryside. We have our own enclosed paddock and whilst we mainly lead walk, there are some dogs I am happy to let off the lead.
We also offer a 24h veterinary call out service. Phone now on
